Valley Youth Hockey Association is pleased to announce tryout information for the 2024 Spring Travel season and the 2024-2025 Roanoke Jr. Dawgs Regular season.

 

VYHA  is a Tier II Hockey Club that fields competitive teams focused on player development while providing a safe and fun environment to build a lifelong love of the game. Roanoke Jr. Dawgs travel teams will participate in the Carolinas Hockey League (CHL) in all divisions where team levels match, as well as the Eastern Junior Elite Prospect League (EJEPL) or equivalent.

 

The organization's goal is to field co-ed teams at 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U.  Where the number of participants can support, we will field multiple teams at some levels.  The number of teams and level of play is ultimately subject to the number and quality of the selected players.  

 

2024 Spring Travel and 2024-2025 Roanoke Jr Dawgs Travel tryouts will be conducted across multiple days beginning April 13 at the Lancerlot Sports Complex, unless otherwise noted. Each player will be assessed a $35 tryout fee per team being evaluated. The tryout schedule is as follows:

 

10U - Squirt (2014, 2015)

Sunday, April 14 -  10:30 am

 

12U - Pee Wee (2012, 2013)

Saturday, April 13 - 5:30 pm

Sunday, April 14 -   11:45 am

 

14U - Bantam (2010, 2011)

Saturday, April 27 - 4:30 pm

Sunday, April 28 -   10:00  am

 

16U - Midget Minor (2008, 2009)

Saturday, April 27 - 5:45  pm

Sunday, April 28 -   8:45  am

IMPORTANT NOTES: All skaters and goalies are required to attend the evaluation skate for their respective age groups.  Supplemental skate may be scheduled at a later date for players who have commitments that cannot be avoided on these dates.  The age coordinator will arrange this opportunity with any players who may need to arrange for a different evaluation date. You still must register at this time, even if you have a conflict with the sessions.

In order to register to participate in VYHA Travel Team Tryouts, we are allowing each participant to provide their USA Hockey membership confirmation number for 2023-2024. The 2023-2024 USA Hockey number will only be accepted for this Tryout only, all other registrations will require 2024-2025 USA Hockey number.

The 2024-2025 USA Hockey registration number is valid for this registration. If you do not have a USA Hockey registration number you must first complete registration with USA Hockey. Once a USA Hockey registration confirmation is received, return to this Registration Session to signup for the 2024-2025 Roanoke Jr DawgsTravel Team Tryout. Directions below to obtain USA Hockey number:

 

• Step 1:  CLICK HERE to go to USA Hockey Registration and register your player(s). Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation code(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with USA Hockey. Each player must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number.

• Step 2:  Return to this registration and proceed. Later in this registration session you will need to enter the USA Hockey Confirmation Code that you received in Step 1.
